In May 2023, I began promoting myself on public social platforms in an effort to reach a greater audience and increase my online following and revenue. I created a new Facebook profile, which apparently linked to the contacts in my phone, suggesting to personal (and work) contacts that they may know ‘Kora Bell’.
Some of my colleagues found out about my OnlyFans side hustle. The rumor mill began and my boss found out. I was always professional at work, and never filmed or posted any content while on the clock.
What I did on my own time in my personal life, was my own business… Or so I thought!
During the online meeting, I was given verbal and written Notification of Termination (by email) “based on a number of factors”. The letter stated that I violated the Attendance Policy, even though I had been hospitalized for two weeks with Scarlett fever, three months earlier. I had Doctor’s notes excusing my absences, and on one occasion I even showed up to work, but was sent home by my supervisor because I looked extremely ill. Additionally, the dates written on the Termination Notification were incorrect, and per the Attendance Policy, I should have received a Documented Counselling when I returned to work at the end of June!
My boss verbally eluded to some personal conduct issues (of which I had none) and the letter stated that my “performance and/or conduct does not meet acceptable standards” and as a result, my “employment as an employee is terminated effective Sept 19, 2023.”
